During our reading block, the students have a chance to work at six different centers. Each center has many hands-on activities for the students to complete. Some of the centers include building words and letters with play-dough, magnets, stamps, dot art, and markers. Another center allows the students to make patterns out of blocks and sort a variety of objects. We also have an iPad center where the students are able to use the Osmo system to match letters and eventually spell words. Each day they rotate to a new spot. Centers give students a chance to keep developing academic skills through hands-on activities which I enjoy seeing! Below are pictures of the students exploring the centers for the first time. I gave them a chance to see how each material worked before having them complete the activities.
