The seniors from Aquinas come to visit the kindergarteners each year. We were so excited to have them visit last week. We filled out a sheet with our senior about ourselves and then we got to play with them on the playground. The seniors will be coming once a month to do a variety of activities with us. It is so fun watching them interact together!
We love the fall and all the fun Science units we get to do. This week, the students learned all about weather. We were scientists and did several experiments like making a cloud in a jar, a tornado in a jar and making our very own snow. We made predictions and recorded our outcomes for each experiment. The students also had a blast making their own clouds for art out of shaving cream and glue. We can't wait to see what we will be learning next!
Book orders are in! If you ordered books for your child they were sent home today! Remember we do book orders every month. This is a great chance to get your child hooked on reading!
Thank you to Fr. Homes and Spirit Club for giving a presentation over Our Lady of Fatima and our Mary flashlights! Now we will be able to say our prayers to Mary before bed! We finished our Apple Unit on Monday and graphed how we like to eat our apples. As you can see, Apple Jacks cereal was our winner! Other choices were apple slices, caramel apples, applesauce, and apple juice. The students enjoyed eating applesauce after we graphed to end our Apple Unit!
St. Mary's had a very special celebration today for Mary our Mother's Birthday. We prayed a rosary in the prayer garden with the school and had ice cream afterwards to celebrate. It's always wonderful to see all the students coming together to pray. The students have been loving working at their centers. Center time is a way for them to explore different materials and work with hands-on activities. They might be building letters and words with Play-Doh, making patterns and designs with blocks, and they even get to explore many Apps on the iPad to help with a variety of skills. We love center time, and we know the students enjoy their time working at each station. |
