The kindergartners and myself would like to congratulate the Class of 2016 on graduating from high school which the ceremony will be coming up very soon for them! We enjoyed having the seniors come to our classroom every month and we did many fun projects with them like making turkeys, heart animals, playing outside, and reading stories. Good luck with all your future plans and we will be praying for you! Below are pictures from the seniors March visit.
One of my favorite units in Social Studies is community helpers. We had fun learning about different people who help others in our community. One project we did was we built our own town in the classroom. We made the roads in our town and then the students came up with a building to put in our community. We had a hospital, fire station, school, restaurant and even a car dealership. Each star represented a different place. To end our unit, the students got to go on a walk to see the town of David City and see what community helpers we could find. We saw banks, the library, fire station, a hair salon, and a police station. It was a perfect ending to the unit and it was a beautiful day!
Every year, the kindergartners make a class project for Gold Rush which is auctioned off for parents to buy. This year, we made a wooden cross with the students' artwork. Each student was given a piece of colored paper. They made their own designs and we put all those pieces together on the cross. My mom is a wonderful artist and made the heart for the middle. Our cross turned out beautiful! Thank you for all your generous donations at Gold Rush and we hope everyone had a great time!
The words 'Faith' and 'Trust' were the theme in Religion! We know 'faith' means believing in God and we should always trust in Him. To review these words we read three great stories about three awesome men: David, Daniel, and Noah. The students loved each story and we completed a couple projects to remind us what these great men did! We even got to see how tall Goliath was compared to us!
