We are so excited to bring back this blog and share with you what happens in kindergarten. Please check back every week for updates. We will include pictures, their sight words and skills they can work on at home, and any additional information they might need. Here are some random pictures from the first semester! Enjoy Is it really May?! The kindergarteners have been so busy this last month. It’s amazing we are to the end of the year. Enjoy these pictures from the last month! We had a busy week in kindergarten! We met two Seminarians this week. Mr. Sasse talked to us about the Eucharist and we even got to look at a chalice. We loved listening to his stories! The students also had fun coloring Easter eggs and going on a sight word hunt! We hope you have a great Easter! The kindergarteners did a fantastic job reading and performing the Stations of the Cross. We are so proud of them! We are glad you could come support them today! We enjoy using Saxon Math in kindergarten and the program does a nice job of using fun games to teach the students different math concepts. One of those games is Dominos. The students have to identify doubles during the game along with counting and knowing their numbers. They had a blast playing the game! We’ve also taught them how to play War and we’ve played Bingo throughout the year to work on number recognition. The students had fun this week guessing the gender and name of Mrs. Schlautman’s baby. She has so many great names to pick from now! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby S and can’t wait to meet him or her very soon!
Sara Ockander brought her hen, Goldie, to school today. She is a special hen because she lays green eggs. We celebrated Dr. Seuss this week so her green eggs fit in perfectly with the week. Sara also taught us a little about chickens and how she takes care of them. We are so glad Goldie could visit our classroom, and we thankful for Sara this year. Sara is our Reading Title teacher, and we’ve loved having her at St. Mary’s!
We had a blast celebrating Valentine’s Day by playing in the snow!It was so fun watching them work together to build snowmen and a fort! The Winter Olympics are starting this week and we are getting ready in Kindergarten. Check back for more pictures throughout the week! Go USA! Enjoy all the fun pictures from this week! We are so blessed to be at St. Mary’s School! |
